Community Transport

Brokerage
Brokerage is a minibus sharing scheme, which enables groups and organisations within the community to use accessible and affordable vehicles. These can either be self-drive or a volunteer driver may be made available with the vehicle.
The sharing scheme is only available to non-profit making groups or organisations. For further information, please contact:

Voluntary Social Car Schemes
Volunteer co-ordinators and drivers operate this service. It is available for people in the community who cannot access public or private transport. You may need to attend a doctors appointment, visit a friend in hospital, connect with a bus or train service, or go shopping etc.
The standard fare is 30 pence per mile travelled. To find the nearest scheme to you please contact the:

Rural Wheels
Rural Wheels is a unique community transport scheme that helps to address the issue of a lack of good public transport provision in some rural areas of Cumbria. It provides door-to-door transport for people, when they want it and at reasonable cost.
