Kirkbampton
lies on the very Northern Boundary of Allerdale District Council.
As such we sometimes have more in common with our neighbour
of Carlisle City. In fact you may find you will attend more
events run by Carlisle than Allerdale. For example, Carlisle
City runs Summer Activity days for children at various local
village halls including Gt. Orton, Burgh by Sands and Grinsdale
whereas at present Allerdale runs one at Wigton. Probably the
largest bonfire and Firework display in the county is run every
November in Carlisle which is closer than that run by Allerdale
in Workington.
