Due
to the Expenses debacle of the MP's in 2009 this Council feels
they are obliged to publically reveal the amount of expenses
your Local Councillors are receiving. This is simple;
There is no attendance allowance for Parish Councillors. (They
do it for love !).
The only expenses that Councillors claim are for is travelling
to and from external meetings away from the normal Parish
Council Meetings eg Association AGM's and Neighbourhood Forum
Meetings etc.
Details of expenses claimed by Councillors are available from
the Clerk as a request under the Freedom
of Information Act.
The only other significant element is the Clerk’s salary
and expenses. In Kirkbampton Parish rather than use a Petty
cash system the Clerk keeps a note of all expenses (postage,
phone calls, photocopying, stationery etc) that he/she carries
out and submits a claim on a biannual basis at the same time
as he/she receives his/her salary payment.
Details of working expenses and Clerks Wages are available
from the Clerk as a request under the Freedom
of Information Act.
