Kirkbampton and District News

The village and parish of Kirkbampton lies on the Solway Plain approximately 6 miles West of the border city of Carlisle with it's historical cathedral and castle. It encompasses the villages/hamlets of Kirkbampton, Little Bampton, Oughterby, Studholme, Flatt and Ploughlands.


This web site is for the benefit of both residents and visitors, who seek to enjoy the advantages of being part of our community. We hope it will also be informative and interesting to existing and new residents and visitors and enable them to take full advantage of what the area has to offer.

New season starts Tuesday 16th September

7 pm - 9.30 pm Kirkbampton Village Hall

The club plays Short Mat Bowls weekly from September to April. We have two new mats and woods are available Free of Charge. Matches are arranged other clubs and are played both home and away on a friendly basis. welcome anyone of any age and it is not just for older people.

No need to rush out and buy badminton rackets, they are available free of charge. Badminton nets set up by 1st group and put away be 2nd group. Cost per person based on 4 people playing at each session is £2.00 per person
